I had a great time with my newly Engaged Couple; Krystina and AJ. They came to me as a another great referral! It’s been so fun getting to know them. They originally met in Middle School and are getting Married in September 2012. They wanted to do something fun with the Engagement Session that brought back those old school days. So we met at Alderwood Middle School and off we went. It’s been years since I’ve been in a Middle School so it was fun for me too.

Now a little about the couple:

Krystina is a Mom and has a darling daughter Kaytlin, she joined us for some of the photoshoot and was just a doll! Krystina is a Guest Service Coordinator in the Spa Industry and loves spending time with her daughter and watching her grow and learn everyday. Albert works for a software company in tech support and is persuing a career in IT. He loves to play the drums, fix computers and play video games. They both enjoy spending quality time together as a family and conquering their favorite video games.

The big proposal: They took a trip down to California to visit family last Summer were they also visited Lake Tahoe and took the heavenly gondola up the mountain. They were enjoying the viewpoint and AJ asked someone to take a photo of them and that is when he got down on one knee and told Krystina that she is the love of his life and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Of course she said “YES!”! They’re both looking forward to their big ceremony and reception at the Lynnwood Convention Center in September.

R + B “ENGAGED!”

I always love photographing couples but this one is extra special! I have photographed Rachel many times; photographing her family, her high school senior photos, and now an Engagement Session. Yeah! Rachel is just adorable and her fiancé is so very sweet. I loved every second with these two love birds. We headed to Gas Works Park, which I have photographed many times at this location, but I have never seen it as crowded as it was on this day. We had to dodge, trapeze artists, bicyclists, dogs, and kite flyers, but we made it work!

And, a little bit about the couple:

Brandon and Rachel met through basketball. They both enjoy watching sports together as well as playing them. They like to workout together, and when they go out to eat they almost always get sushi. Brandon is currently working at Costco and is interested in golf as well as many other sports… but it’s mainly golf. Rachel has been playing a little basketball and going to school at Bellevue College along with working as a nanny.

Brandon proposed one night when Rachel went to the store, when she came back he had a dozen roses leading into the living room. All of the furniture was pushed aside and there was a chair in the middle with a heart shape of red votive candles around it on the floor. There was a note that said to sit in the chair, close her eyes, and wait. She waited, Brandon came in, grabbed her hands, and gave a little speech, and proposed. Of course she said YES! How fun!

Kelsey / SENIOR / Class of 2013

Kelsey’s is another one of my Senior Model Rep’s and is another gorgeous face of Rachelle Erickson! So lucky to be blessed to have the best group of reps in the NW!

And, now a little bit about Kelsey… She attends Monroe High School. She enjoys music, soccer, and school. And, her after school activities include soccer, tennis, and snowboarding.

Kendall / SENIOR / Class of 2013

Kendall is just so darling and has a heart of gold. This girl will seriously do anything for anyone. I loved spending a couple of hours getting to know her. It was a perfect gorgeous day at the Kirkland waterfront and we had lots of fun.

Kendall attends Cedearcrest High School in Duvall. She is very active in volleyball, beach volleyball, and loves photography.

A + E “ENGAGED!”

Andrea and Edwin met at the University of Washington at the Quad for their Engagement Session. No purple on Easter morning for this couple… it was all about the beautiful PINK Cherry Blossom trees! My oh my it was such a treat. I had fun getting to know this sweet couple more while surrounded by the full blossoms. The campus is truly magical this time of year.

And, a little about the couple:

Andrea was born on the Yongsan military base in Seoul, South Korea. After moving every few years, she finally settled in Colorado Springs, Colorado where she attended high school and college. After graduating from University of Colorado, she moved to Seattle for an AmeriCorps position with College Access Now. Andrea enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Edwin was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he lived until he moved away for college. Edwin moved to Fort Worth, Texas where he attended Texas Christian University. After completing his undergraduate education, he moved to Seattle where he attended University of Washington to pursue a Ph.D. in economics. Currently, Edwin is a post-doctoral fellow at the Veteran’s Affairs Northwest Center for Outcomes Research in Older Adults. In his free time, he enjoys trying new restaurants and blogging about his food experiences.

It was at Vacation Bible School 2009 at Seattle Community Church, where these two met. After lunch, Andrea spotted Edwin sitting alone working on his laptop. He looked upset, even angry. Andrea approached him and sat down next to him and asked what he was doing. He explained that he was running a simulation for his dissertation, and that it wasn’t going well. Andrea replied, “You should smile more and try to look happier because there are little kids around.”

Since then, they have enjoyed countless dinner dates and lots of Pacific Northwest outings. Berry picking in the summer and pumpkin picking in the fall have become traditions for them. They enjoy food adventures and love trying food trucks! Andrea and Edwin are looking forward to their wedding this summer at the Hollywood Schoolhouse.

R + P “ENGAGED!”

I always love Engagement Sessions and this one is extra special as I have known Rebecca for a few years. I was looking forward to meeting her fiancé Patrick so we headed down to Pike Place to take photos and get to know Patrick. It was a very cold morning, these two toughed it out with nonstop smiles on their faces!

And, a little bit about the couple:
Rebecca is from the Seattle suburb of Woodinville. She grew up in an idyllic cul-de-sac with neighbor kids playing kick-the-can until dark most nights. Rebecca was very studious and grew up taking every honors class in school and was editor of the Yearbook. So of course, she really surprised her parents’ when she quit Washington State University after only 2 years. She spent a few months learning web design before deciding she would return to school and finish her degree online.

A few years later, she stumbled into recruiting and found that it was a job that she loved. Now, Rebecca helps people find jobs and uses her creative side to make scrapbooks full of memories. She also has recently found a passion for geocaching thanks to Patrick.

Patrick grew up in the west hills of Portland, Patrick spent a lot of time exploring the woods outside his door. This led to a love of the outdoors and sense of adventure that he carries to this day.

Upon graduation from the University of Oregon (Go DUCKS!), Patrick moved to Seattle for a number of years before deciding to move to Durango, Colorado for the past seven years. While in Colorado, his passion for the outdoors flourished with opportunities to hunt, fish, ski, and hike. It was here that he found his passion for geocaching and his career path in project management.

“C” Harmony Worked For Rebecca…
Some may think this story starts with a trip to Mexico, but it actually starts with our characters in high school. Patrick attended high school with Kit and Cynthia. They remained friends throughout college and into adulthood, even when Patrick moved 1,200 miles away.

Rebecca met Cynthia at work and they became close friends. Their friendship led to adventures and travel together as well as helping navigate Rebecca’s world of online dating.

In 2010 Kit and Cynthia were planning their annual trip to Mexico. They happened to invite Patrick to join them for the week. Little did Patrick know that Cynthia had been telling Rebecca about him for years. While they were planning this trip, an innocent email flirtation began which, led to a month-long side conversation; getting to know each other. By the time they met in Mexico, it seemed like they had known each other for years. A secret romance blossomed in that week. Upon returning to their lives they maintained a long distance relationship for seven months before Patrick packed up and moved back to the Pacific Northwest.

A couple of months later, Patrick surprised Rebecca with a trip to Victoria, BC where he asked her to spend their lives together. They have “C”ynthia to thank for this.

Baby Calista / Newborn Session

I have been so blessed to photograph this family multiple times and I still can’t get enough… Family Portraits, Engagement Session, their Wedding, and now with their sweet new addition to their family a Newborn Session.

Calista Serene Marshall was born on February 22, 2012 / 18 days past her Mommy’s due date. She was definitely worth the wait and is so precious. A mere 2 weeks old at the time these photos were taken, she was not as excited about her modeling debut as her Mom, Dad, and brother but we still had a blast. She completes their little family along with our son Cole who is almost 7 years-old. Big brother Cole is such a loving, gentle big brother, he really loves his little sister! They are all enjoying watching Calista grow and just love her to pieces.

This “April Fools” birthday girl, or I should say my “Little Art Director” is of course spending the day with me at a full day of photoshoots at the park! (rain, rain please go away today!) I might even have to have to have her sneak in some of the photos. Stay tuned.

S + N “ENGAGED”

Nancy and Shane were another winning couple of my Free Engagement Session that I gave away at the BridesClub.com, Everett Bridal Show. These two are so much fun and had me giggling behind my camera the whole entire session. Even the snow, hail, and pouring down rain didn’t stop these two from having their session! We were “all” numb within minutes, but had a blast!I gave them some ideas for their “Save the Date” cards to send out and they ran with it full blast and had darling props to show me when we met. I LOVE props for photos; especially when my couple’s make them. It totally adds to the session by bringing out their creativity, and it tells more of the couple’s story.Here is a little bit about Nancy and Shane:

Shane can make Nancy laugh uncontrollably. He is so sweet, caring, and thinks of Nancy when it comes to everything and he puts detailed thoughts into everything they do, even on the spur of the moment. Nancy is very caring and is always doing things to let Shane know she is thinking of him, even when they are apart. She has accepted Shane’s boys as her own, which fills his heart with joy. She’s fun to laugh with but also can handle being laughed at! Although Nancy isn’t a die-hard Seahawk fan, Shane still loves her.

Their interests: They love going to 5^th Avenue Theater each year to attend shows and eating at new places. They enjoy traveling to Wineries, taking tours, and short weekend getaways. They also enjoy doing the simplest things like shopping and going to movies. No matter what they are doing, they laugh, and enjoy every minute together.

How they met: They both attended the same high school, but were not with the same group of friends. Twenty years later after they both re-connected on Facebook, while Nancy was living in Arizona, she relocated back to Washington to be with Shane and his family. They knew just after two dates that they would never leave each other’s side.

The proposal: Nancy arrived home to a darkened house with a red suede rope draping up the stairs through the main part of the house to the second level and into the bedroom lined with scented candles. Lined on the rope were pictures of them along with quotes in chronological order from the time they met. As she approached the bedroom he was standing next to the bed and was dressed so handsome. She walked in and saw out of the corner of her eye something large propped up on the bed but it was covered and then they exchanged some precious words. Shane then reached for a small box and kneeled down. Nancy was already in tears and he pulled the cover off the item on the bed, it was a caricature picture of them in the proposal position. Shane then asked Nancy to marry him and her answer, of course, was YES, YES, YES!!! He then said wait and lifted a heart shaped object off the corner of the picture. Under it the word “YES” appeared. They laughed, cried, hugged, and kissed; it was the best moment of Nancy’s life.

We finished the session with warming up and getting some yummy Almond Roca and one of the last shot’s I took was one of my fav’s! How sweet are they? SIMPLY ADORABLE!!!!!

I just adore you both and I am “so” honored to share in your BIG DAY, I can’t wait!
