Soakin’ in the SUN, strollin’ on the beach, and watchin’ the SUN go down…

Alki Beach…one of my favorites places to soak in the sun, stroll the beach, walk my dog, and of course to photograph couples! This location is an extra special spot for this couple as Marty popped the big question and was their number one choice to have their “Engagement Session”. Jennifer and Marty are just such a gorgeous couple both inside and out, just naturals at posing, and was their first official photoshoot together. I had a great time hearing all about their engagement story, learning more about them, and talking about their big day, that is now a couple months away.

Here is a little bit about the couple:

They love doing anything and everything together, camping, Seahawks and Husky football games, wine tasting, hiking, working out, you name it, as long as they are together. One of their things to do is relax in their backyard with their outdoor fireplace! They bought a house a little over 2 years ago, and it is amazing. They also have a fluffy cat named Muffin, who always needs to be with them. Marty works for a human resources consulting firm, and Jen has been a dental assistant for over 8 years.

And, a few words from the groom to be:

Jen is my best friend; soul mate and I only love her more each day. Our childhoods are nearly identical and we have so much in common. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with Jen; I know it will be amazing.

Lots of LAVENDER and LOVE…

I’m all about being creative with my shots and this couple let me really push myself both in the Engagement, and Wedding day. Derek and Kelli are such a darling couple, and I have enjoyed every minute of all the planning, Engagement Shoot, and prep for this couples big day!

The evening before I photographed their Rehearsal, and Rehearsal Dinner, which was a lot of fun. The dinner was at “The Brooklyn“. Very yummy pizza by the way, and one of the couples favorite spots to have a date night.

The next morning we started early. As Kelli and her Maid of Honor were away getting their hair done, I started on the detail shots at the beautiful “Lavender Hill Gardens“. It was such a beautiful setting, gorgeous flowers, lots of paths to walk around, a barn, a tree swing, and I can’t forget the cute beagle that lives on the property. He joined us for the rehearsal and part of the big day. I felt at home with my little beagle.

The flowers were perfect, and designed by Garden of Eden Bouquets. Kelli’s bouquet especially was my favorite. So beautiful, especially the sparkly buttons, it even looked just as gorgeous when they skipped out to their getaway car, and headed off to Leavenworth to enjoy their Honeymoon.
