Julie’s Baby Bump!

I love photographing “Baby Bumps,” this one was extra as it is a good friend from high school! So not only did I have fun photographing her darling tummy, I also got to photograph Daddy and little soon to be Sister, which Izzy is so excited to be a “Big Sister.” Let me tell you she is such a little super model. We walked around the park for over an hour and a half and this precious little girl was all about being photographed the ENTIRE session! So, so, so cute!

Since doing this photo shoot at one of my favorite places to photograph they have added yet another addition to the family,”Harper“! Mommy and baby are very healthy and I am very excited to photograph their “Newborn Session” tomorrow night! Stay tuned to see photos of their precious new bundle!

Super Sahana!

There is one extra special little girl that I am so very proud of… her name is Sahana, well “Super Sahana” to me. This little superstar had the privilege last week to open for the main performer, “Clint McCune” at “Soul Food Books” in Redmond, WA. Sahana opened with “three” amazing songs that she memorized and played on the piano in front of a packed organic coffee house!

Sahana is adored by not only me, but my entire family along with Sunshine! She has the most precious heart, is a little genius, an amazing piano player, super duper creative, and all at the age of 7, however she will be 8 next month!

Now a little about the venue… “Soul Food Books” is an independent book store, with live events, organic coffee, and an amazing place to nourish your soul. Sahana opened for Clint McCune who is a partner and co-creator of the community inspired Soul Food Books and Café in Redmond, WA. A seasoned musician with 11 albums under his belt and an upcoming DVD and CD release; he is a strong force on our local music scene.

Another fun part of the evening was “Sarahenna” Sarah Walters is an amazing body artist and was there that evening painting her gorgeous designs on many hands and arms. B + M “ENGAGED”!

Brenda, Matt, and I started out at one of my favorite locations to photograph, Gas Works Park and then headed over to Kerry Park. We weren’t sure if the weather was going to hold out but we pulled it off until right at the end when we finished. (phew!) We had fun walking around, and I enjoyed getting to know the both of these two more and hearing about their wedding plans. (which of course I love and can never get enough of!)

Here is a little bit about the couple:

Matt grew up in southern California and Brenda in Everett, WA. They met at church and became friends for a long time. About three years ago they were reunited through mutual friends, where they then fell in love. Matt has three wonderful kids, Noah 11, Hanna 10, and Ethan 8. And, Brenda is a service tech for DirecTV, while Matt works for Frito Lay. On the weekends they usually BBQ, as that is their favorite! And, they also love having friends and family over to their new house!

How Matt proposed…. They were heading down to Oregon to visit his family over the summer. One Thursday night Matt got off work around 9pm, he said let’s leave now and drive through the night (they were planning on leaving in the am) Brenda said okay. Once they were on the road Matt said we have a little detour on our way to Eugene. He had gotten a room in Cannon Beach for them to stay the night at. In the morning, they took a walk on the beach, where Matt turned Brenda around and said “this is why I brought you here” and showed her the ring and then asked her to be his wife, and of course Brenda said YES!
