Sweet Baby “Sawyer”!

I love it when my great girlfriends have babies….It must be baby time as I have been busy with “newborn” photo shoots, which is always a treat for me. I have known Danielle for years. She is so creative, very thoughtful, laid back, and just so sweet. She is someone I love doing all my artsy crafts with, but most of all she is amazing and a great friend. I was so excited to meet their sweet little one, “SAWYER”….oh he is precious and has the cutest “monster” baby room ever. This little one was not too into his first photo shoot, but we will take care of that and get him used to being in the spotlight very soon. 🙂

Now a little about Mommy and Daddy / Danielle and Hani:

Danielle and Hani met here in Seattle about 10 years ago. Neither of them is native to Seattle, but they both had decided to make it their home. Danielle moved from Eugene, Oregon to attend the Ultrasound program at Seattle University, and Hani moved from Montreal, Canada to work for Microsoft. They both love to entertain, travel, and be active. Hani especially loves to train for half marathons, play the drums, and cook multi-course dinners with friends. Danielle loves to bake, scrapbook, do anything in the sunshine (run, kayak, rollerblade, hike), and she is constantly brainstorming about their next big travel adventure. Hani knows three languages fluently, so Danielle is constantly trying to take advantage of having a personal translator abroad.
The addition of Sawyer Nicolas has slowed them down a bit, but they are enjoying a new phase of their lives. He is so precious, and they are really lucky to have been blessed with such a healthy baby boy. Sawyer was born weighing in at 9 lbs 6 oz.; he didn’t want to mess around with those newborn diapers and clothes. They are excited to get to know him and hopefully make him into a little traveler and foodie as well.

And, and few of my FAVS:

Thank you so much for letting me come over and share in all of your joy with “SAWYER.” He is so precious and I already can’t wait to come over again!
Much love,

KRISTY & DOUG’S WEDDING!

KRISTY & DOUG recently said “I DO” on the bow of “The Skansonia” The venue is gorgeous and the view is breathtaking from every angle of the restored ferryboat. The ceremony was held on the front of the boat with the Space Needle in the backdrop. Everything was just perfect that even kayakers came up to the boat and joined in on watching the celebration. And, right before the “I DO,” a seaplane took right off in front of the boat and flew over ahead of us. Lots to photo opportunities during this ceremony!
Kristy and her Mom went all out by making and designing the bouquets. They were by far my favorite bouquets ever. They all were made out of crate paper with every detail showing, including “bling” to make them sparkle. The bride also made the flowers in her bouquet out of paper, including her gorgeous invites, and favors for the guests. All keeping with the flower theme. So, so, cute from one very creative bride!
The festivities continued with a delicious lunch and a yummy and gorgeous cake that matched the water….blue! Followed by an ice-cream bar that everyone, not just the kids, loved.
And a few of my favorites:

T + C “ENGAGED”!

We have been VERY limited on SUNNY days here in Seattle this summer, but we could not have asked for more of a perfect day for this couple’s “ENGAGEMENT SESSION!” We headed downtown to a gorgeous park with an amazing view. We took a few minutes to hit up a very cool and hip coffee shop that the couple used to frequent a lot when they lived in the neighborhood. After that we then hit the Asian Art Museum where we all were surprised to see some bikers take time out to pose in one of the same spots my couple did. See one of the shots here that I posted up earlier.

Now a little about the couple:

Tim and Christine both grew up in the Kansas City area. Although they attended the same high school, they were a year apart in age and did not know each other until they were both attending The University of Kansas in 2003. They had some mutual friends, were in the same Art History class, and found their paths crossing more and more. Tim and Christine started dating shortly after Christmas at the end of that semester.

After graduating in 2007, Tim moved to Seattle for a short-term internship. Neither of them was sure at the time whether the move would become permanent, but things worked out. Christine moved to join him a year later. For the past three years they have enjoyed exploring the Northwest. They love camping, hiking, snowboarding, and kayaking. Last New Year’s Eve, the two decided to spend the day snowboarding at Crystal Mountain as they celebrated their 7-year anniversary, since they began dating. At the top of the lifts before their first run of the day, Tim got down on (two) knees with his snowboard strapped on and asked Christine to marry him. Despite being 16 degrees, it was the perfect day! They will be married this fall in the Arboretum in Seattle.

And, a few “SNEAK PEEKS”:

Tim and Christine are both laid back and so amazing to work with. Tim is also a photographer, so it was very fun when he came to me with ideas that he had.  I can’t wait for your big day at the Arboretum in October. One of my favorite locations to shoot at, as it is so beautiful.
Thanks again so much!
Cheers,
Rachelle
